In an emergency:
- Call the police on 999
- Speak to the nearest member of staff
- Use the passenger alarm
Crime on the transport network
Bus
Tube and rail
- Text the British Transport police on 61016. Tell them what happened, where and when (a small charge may apply)
- Report a crime on the British Transport Police website
- Download the British Transport Police app Railway Guardian from the App Store or Google Play Store. The app also has safe travel guides and advice
Across London
Terrorism or suspicious activity
To report possible terrorist activity:
- Call the confidential hotline on 0800 789 321
- Report suspected terrorism to the Metropolitan Police
- Give information anonymously via CrimeStoppers
Hate crime
You don't have to be the victim of hate crime to report it. You can report anything you've seen happening to someone else, or report it on their behalf if they don't want to. (See how the British Transport Police defines hate crime.)
Sexual harassment
Sexual harassment is not tolerated on our network.
Report other crimes to TfL
You can report these crimes directly to us:
- Criminal damage or antisocial behaviour
- Touting and illegal cab activity
- Fraud or corruption against TfL
