Barking Riverside extension
The opening of the new station in July 2022 completes the first extension of London Overground since 2015.
Barking Riverside station is fully step-free, bringing the total of step-free stations across London Overground to more than 60. This helps make London a more accessible city for everyone and supports people's independence when travelling in London.
The new service
The service runs with four trains an hour from Gospel Oak station (via Barking) along the existing Tilbury line used by c2c between Fenchurch Street and Grays.

Walking and cycling
A secure cycle store to park your bike makes it easier for you to cycle to and from the station. You can take a folding bike on London Overground lines at any time on weekdays, weekends and bank holidays. Find out more about taking cycles on public transport.

Nearby bus routes
Bus route EL1 runs from Ilford Station via Barking Town Centre to the new Barking Riverside development. It runs every 5-6 minutes during peak times and throughout the day, Monday to Fridays. It also runs every 6 minutes on Saturdays and every 10 minutes during the evenings and on Sundays.
The EL1 is a 24-hour route and runs every 30 minutes throughout the night, on all nights of the week, from Ilford Hill to Northgate Road.

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers
You can even travel across London from the Barking Riverside Pier by hopping on the River Bus. This service operated by Uber Boat by Thames Clippers stops at 24 piers along the Thames between Barking Riverside and Putney.
