Changes to routes 45, 59 & 118 from Saturday 1 February 2025

From Saturday 1 February we will be making some major changes to how bus routes 45, 59 and 118 operate.

Route 45

The route will:

  • Be revised to run between Camberwell Green and Morden station
  • No longer run between Elephant & Castle and Camberwell Green or between Brixton Hill and Clapham Park
  • Be extended instead from Brixton Hill via the current route 118 to Morden station
  • Run every 12 minutes during the peaks and daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 15 minutes during the evenings and all day on Sundays

Route 59

The route will:

  • Be revised to run between St Bart's Hospital and Clapham Park
  • No longer run between Brixton Hill and Streatham Hill, Telford Avenue, instead running to Clapham Park via the current route 45
  • Run to the same frequency

Route 118

The route will be withdrawn and replaced in its entirety by a revised route 45.

Route 45 will:

  • Run at the same frequency as the current Route 118 during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays 
  • Provide a more frequent service, every 15 instead of every 20 minutes, during the evenings and all day on Sundays

Travel options

For travel between:

  • Camberwell Green and Elephant & Castle - use routes 12, 35, 40, 68, 148, 171, 176 or 468
  • Brixton and Streatham Hill - use existing routes 45, 59, 109, 159, 250 or 333
  • Streatham Hill and Morden via Streatham Hill, Telford Avenue - use re-routed 45
  • Streatham Hill and Clapham Park - use re-routed 59

Changes to routes 14 & 414 from Saturday 22 February 2025 

From Saturday 22 February we will be making some major changes to how bus routes 14 and 414 operate. 

Route 14 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with the frequency increased during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays to a bus every 8 minutes and during the evenings and all day on Sundays to a bus every 10 minutes. The night service will remain at a bus every 15 minutes on every night of the week. 

Route 414 will be withdrawn. Route 14 parallels route 414 between Putney Bridge and Hyde Park Corner and route 74 parallels route 414 between South Kensington and Marble Arch. Route 414 passengers should use routes 14 and 74 instead.

Changes to buses from Saturday 1 February 2025 

These changes will take place to bus routes from Saturday 1 February:

  • Route 32 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times
  • Route 41 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with an increase frequency on Sundays. The early Sunday morning frequency will increase to every 12 minutes before 0900 and then increase to every 8 minutes until around 20:00 when buses return to normal 10 minute evening frequency
  • A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 79 widening the frequency of the service to every 13-14 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 16-17 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays. The temporary timetable will be in place to help with reliability during the Wembley High Road works
  • Route 121 will increase in frequency during the daytime on Sundays from every 15 minutes to a bus every 10 minutes. No change to the frequency of the route at any other time
  • Route 125 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times
  • 24 hour route 149 will have a new timetable on all days and nights of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels
  • Route 153 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with the frequency reduced during the daytime on all days of the week to a bus every 15 minutes. The frequency during the evening will remain at a bus every 20 minutes. Route 153 will be operated by Metroline from this date
  • 24 hour route 220 will have a new timetable on all days and nights of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels
  • A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 223 widening the frequency of the service to every 22 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 32 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays. The temporary timetable will be in place to help with reliability during the Wembley High Road works
  • Route 258 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times. Route 258 will be operated by Metroline from this date
  • Route 299 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times
  • Route 343 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times
  • A temporary timetable will be introduced on route H17 widening the frequency of the service to every 16 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 21 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays. The temporary timetable will be in place to help with reliability during the Wembley High Road works
  • Route W4 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times. The early morning frequency will also increase to every 15 minutes on Monday to Fridays from first bus until 07:30, on Saturdays between first bus and 08:30 and on Sundays from first bus until 10:15. The times of first buses will also change on Sundays with first buses retimed to depart at the same time as on Monday to Saturdays, 05:20 from Oakthorpe Park and 05:40 from Tottenham Hale, Ferry Lane
  • Route W6 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times. The early morning frequency will also increase to every 15 minutes on Monday to Fridays from first bus until 07:15, on Saturdays between first bus and 07:00 and on Sundays from first bus until 09:00. The times of first buses will also change on Sundays with first buses retimed to depart at the same time as on Monday to Saturdays, 05:55 from Southgate and 05:50 from Edmonton Green bus station. The times of the last buses will also be changed on all days of the week with last buses now 45 minutes later at 00:15 from both Southgate and Edmonton Green bus station
  • Route N41 will have a new timetable on all nights of the week with minor changes to times
  • Route N343 will have a new timetable on all nights of the week with minor changes to times

Wembley High Road closure from Monday 13 January 2025

Until Monday 19 May 2025, Wembley High Road will be closed at the junction with Wembley Hill. This means that a number of bus routes will be diverted or stop short of their normal destination during the closure:

  • Bus stops SA, SB and SD on Wembley Hill Road, and stops SC, SE, SJ, SM, SP on Wembley High Road will be closed
  • Routes 83, 92, 182, 223 and N83 will be diverted via Park Lane and Wembley Hill Road
  • Route 483 will be diverted via Park Lane
  • Route 440 will start and finish from stop G at Point Place, Stonebridge Park

Routes 18 and N18 will continue to run through Wembley High Road.
